A good coliving house changes the rhythm of a trip. The best ones are not just rentals with Wi-Fi and a desk. They are places where someone remembers your name, dinner turns into a long conversation, and the weekly plan includes hikes, skill shares, movie nights, or market runs.

That is the difference between accommodation and true coliving. The spaces below are independent, community-led, and rooted in their local settings across Europe, Asia, and the Americas.

True coliving often begins around the table.

What makes an destination coliving space special

Destination coliving spaces usually feel more personal because the people behind them are close to the community. They host the meals, answer the questions, and shape the culture of the house.

The strongest ones share a few traits:

  • A real community rhythm Shared dinners, group outings, and intentional introductions matter more than polished furniture.

  • A clear sense of place Mountain villages, beach towns, rice paddies, old farmhouses, and city neighborhoods all shape the experience.

  • Hosts who care Many of these spaces are founder-led or run by small local teams, which makes the stay feel less anonymous.

Coliving spaces in Europe

1. Swiss Escape in Grimentz, Switzerland

We could not make this list without including our very first home! Located in the stunning alpine village of Grimentz, our cozy, chalet-style coliving is just a 2-minute walk from the ski station, meaning you can easily hit the slopes between deep work sessions. But the real magic is not just the mountain access; we have intentionally designed the space and the community so that the moment you walk through the doors, you immediately feel like you are coming home to friends.

2. Greek Escape in Crete, Greece

Our sun-drenched Mediterranean base on the island of Crete! Operating out of beautiful luxury villas, Greek Escape is deeply intertwined with the locals, giving you a highly authentic experience. It is the perfect location to explore the island from, whether you want to eat your heart out at local tavernas or dive deep into rich Cretan history. Just like in Switzerland, the community here is exceptional, offering that exact same warm, welcoming, family vibe.

3. Alpiness in Switzerland

We have to shout out our wonderful Swiss neighbors! Run by the amazing Fabienne and Ben (and of course, Winchy the coliving dog), Alpiness is tucked in the raw nature of the Valais Alps. Set in a traditional, multi-story alpine chalet in the tiny village of Les Hauderes, it hosts an intimate community of around 11 to 17 people. It is a haven for mountain lovers and outdoor enthusiasts who want a tight-knit family vibe, complete with a silent coworking space, a social ground-floor workspace, and a massive shared kitchen designed for connection.

4. Anceu Coliving in Galicia, Spain

Founded by our good friends Agustin and Africa, Anceu is a masterclass in rural coliving. Located in a tiny Galician village of just 100 people, this beautifully restored rural stone house and forest property hosts up to 22 people across 11 private rooms. What makes Agustin and Africa's project so special is how deeply they integrate nomads into the village, from sharing ecological bread baked by a local neighbor to working hands-on with community projects. It is calm, deeply authentic, and built on genuine connection.

5. Enchanted Coliving in France

Created by the wonderful Bianca, Enchanted is exactly what the name promises. Located in the serene French countryside near Surgeres, this beautiful property hosts a small, highly intentional community of 4 to 8 people across private and twin rooms. Bianca has built a cozy haven designed for thinkers, dreamers, and creators where Sunday brunches are phone-free and life moves at a gentler, more inspiring pace.

6. Cloud Citadel in Briançon, France

Located in Briancon, the highest city in France, founders Jelena and Joe have built something truly special inside a historic building. Hosting 15 to 18 residents, it is the perfect basecamp. Imagine hitting the ski slopes before your morning stand-up meeting alongside an incredible community of active nomads.

7. Burgas Coliving in Bulgaria

Katya has crafted a beautiful space on the Black Sea coast. Her focus on yoga and wellness creates the perfect blend of seaside relaxation and a highly productive remote work environment. Burgas gives you beach access, local culture, and a more relaxed alternative to the usual European hotspots.

Coliving spaces in Asia

8. Alt Chiang Mai in Thailand

Founded by John, this coliving is located right in the ancient moat of Chiang Mai. John has built a space that combines beautiful modern design with a ridiculously strong community vibe, complete with soundproof pods and communal events.

9. B HoiAn Retreat in Vietnam

Set amidst peaceful rice paddies, this retreat offers incredible tranquility. It is the ultimate spot for deep work, mindfulness, and experiencing Vietnamese hospitality and culture far from the chaotic city streets.

Coliving spaces in the Americas

10. Co404 in Mexico & Colombia

Founded by Laurens Borrey, Co404 is built for remote workers who travel alone but do not want to live alone. Starting in San Cristobal in 2021, it has expanded to Oaxaca and Medellin. Community is the actual central here: think an oversized dining table, weekly family dinners cooked together, and deep local engagement like building a Day of the Dead altar. Work is taken just as seriously, with dedicated desks, call booths, and fast wifi. Because the three houses work as a network, you will often find guests traveling from Oaxaca to San Cristobal to Medellin alongside friends they met at the very first dinner table.

11. Casa Kandamy Coliving in Colombia

Founded by Sebas, a movement teacher, this space in Tobia, Colombia is a beautiful environment that feels like living in a massive, well-designed house with your best friends. It has a unique focus on wellness, movement programs, and staying active while working remotely.

12. Mi Casa Coliving in Mexico

Founded by Viri and Fer, this space is proudly made by Mexican women and deeply rooted in local culture. Set in a beautiful, hacienda-style Mexican house in La Punta, Puerto Escondido, Mi Casa offers a warm, welcoming environment. They skip the transient hostel vibe in favor of lasting connections and authentic local integration, creating a true home for digital nomads.

How to choose the right coliving space

The best coliving space depends less on the destination and more on the season of life you are in.

Choose the Alps if you want snow, mountains, and outdoor energy. Pick Crete, Colombia, or Mexico if warmth and a slower social rhythm sound better. Look at Vietnam or rural Spain if you want quiet, nature, and fewer distractions.

Before booking, ask yourself:

  • Do I want a busy social calendar or a calm household?

  • Do I prefer mountains, coast, countryside, or city access?

  • Are shared dinners and group activities part of the weekly rhythm?

  • Is the space founder-led or run by a small team with a clear community style?

The right answer is the place where daily life feels easy. A strong coliving house gives you more than a bed and a stable connection. It gives you people to cook with, explore with, and come home to at the end of the day.
