Why We Lowered Our Coliving Prices at Greek Escape

In a world where everything seems to be getting more expensive, from groceries to electricity bills, lowering prices feels almost rebellious. And yet, that’s exactly what we’ve done at Greek Escape.

This wasn’t a marketing tactic, a seasonal promotion, or a “strategy meeting” idea. It was something that unfolded naturally, almost accidentally, during a moment of reflection. And like everything at Greek Escape, it started with a simple question:

“How can we make this experience more accessible without compromising what makes it special?”

Looking Back: A Journey of Growth, Community, and Learning

When we first opened Greek Escape, our goal was to create a home for remote workers from around the world: a place where people could settle into a rhythm of community, focus, and belonging in a beautiful Greek village.

Over time, as more people discovered our spaces, something unexpected happened. Our waitlist grew… and kept growing. Even when our villas weren’t open for bookings, over 80 people signed up, hoping to join us when the doors reopened.

This meant something to us. It showed that the space we were creating mattered, not just the villa itself, but the way people felt when they lived there.

And it pushed us to think deeper.

The Surprise Hidden in the Numbers

During Black Friday, while the world seemed busy buying things, we sat down to rethink how we could help people save instead. We pulled up every document, bill, and cost structure we had. And buried in those spreadsheets was something we didn’t expect:

Nevelo Villas, one of our two villa complexes was actually cheaper to operate than we had initially projected.

This wasn’t obvious at the start. Between rising energy prices, local taxes, and general inflation, it felt like everything was pushing us in the opposite direction. But when the numbers finally came into focus, we realized we had room to breathe. And that gave us room to give back.

A Rare Decision in 2025: Lowering Prices Instead of Raising Them

Once we understood the true cost structure of Nevelo, the choice became clear:

We would lower the coliving prices, significantly. Not temporarily. Not as a promotion. But because it genuinely made sense.

So we took the leap.

Nevelo Villa rooms are now 25% cheaper, with single rooms starting at just €1100 per month (previously €1500). Double rooms are now €1350 per month, making them accessible to more people than ever. In a year where everything is going up, we’re proud to make something go down.

We Didn’t Stop There: Welcoming Weekly Stays

Another big realization came from conversations with our community: not everyone can commit to a full month. Some people want to test Crete before settling in. Some want a shorter escape. Some are on the move between destinations.

And so, we are bringing back weekly stays.

This means more flexibility, more accessibility, and more chances for people to find their place within our community, even if it’s just for a week.

Aether Villa: Still Premium, Still the Same Price

Our second complex, Aether Villas, remains at its same pricing, for good reason. These are brand new villas with bigger rooms, larger common spaces, and many ensuite bathrooms. The value is exactly where it needs to be, and the demand reflects that.

But between Nevelo’s reduced rates and weekly stay options, there’s now a range of options for different budgets and lifestyles.

Here’s a quick breakdown:

Nevelo Villas (16 rooms)

  • Single Room — €344/week | €1100/month

  • Double Room — €422/week | €1350/month

Aether Villas (14 rooms)

  • Shared Room — €375/week | €1200/month

  • Single Room — €500/week | €1600/month

  • Double Room — €625/week | €2000/month

Whether you're coming for a week or settling in for a longer stay, there’s a room that fits.

Why This Matters to Us

At its heart, Greek Escape has always been about community, not volume, not margins, not trends. Lowering the Nevelo prices isn’t about filling rooms. It’s about widening the circle.

It’s about making it possible for someone who’s been dreaming of living by the sea, joining communal dinners, exploring Crete, or finding focus and belonging, can finally take that step.

If this change means that even a few more people get to experience that, then it’s more than worth it.

What’s Next

As we enter this next chapter, we’re excited, not just about the villas, but about the people who will call them home.

If you’ve been following Greek Escape for a while, or if you’ve been sitting on the fence about joining us, this might be the moment to take the leap.

And we’d love to welcome you here in Crete ❤️
